Natural selection is about the survival of the fittest, but it is not perfect. How can we fix it?
Short Description
ReEvolution highlights a different approach to the Evolution of Homo Sapiens. Evolution, as a natural process, is not perfect and Natural Selection often results in anatomical and functional mistakes, which can be easily identified in our bodies today. What if we could correct these mistakes by re-engineering the human body?
Introduction
As opposed to what most people think, evolution does not result in "perfectly adapted creatures." Indeed, in the natural world, evolution results in the best compromise available, but no living organism is perfect. That also includes the human body, which is riddled with "evolutionary mistakes" (i.e. diseases, old-age, vestigial organs, physiological limitations, involuntary behavior, vulnerability, etc.)
ReEvolution is asking the question: What if we could correct these mistakes by re-engineering the human body? To answer this question, the popular-science TV series showcases top-notch scientists, engineers, and labs around the world, working on scientific and technological answers.
From genomic manipulation and stem-cells-based tissue regeneration, to exoskeletons and nano-robots, ReEvolution’s focus is on how interdisciplinary research leads the way to create a very different future human body.
The series also discusses the moral and ethical repercussions of these advances and how they affect not only the individual but society at large.
